Research Study

A Message from the researcher:

My name is Jessie Buttafuoco, and I am a PhD student and researcher studying the psychological effects of true crime media on crime victims and their families. As someone who has personally experienced being the subject of true crime media, I understand how complex and deeply personal this topic can be.

I am seeking participants for a research study exploring how victims, survivors, and their families experience the media’s portrayal of their stories. My goal is to amplify the voices of those directly affected and to create meaningful data that sheds light on the psychological and emotional impact of media participation and exposure.

If you choose to participate, you will be asked to take part in a confidential interview where you can share your experiences in a way that feels comfortable to you. The study is completely voluntary, and all responses will be kept private. I am committed to ensuring that this research is conducted with care, empathy, and respect for your story and well-being.

If you are interested in learning more, please feel free provide your contact information below, and I would be happy to answer any questions or provide further details. If you decide to participate, you will have the option to withdraw at any time.

Thank you for considering this opportunity. Your voice and perspective are incredibly important, and I deeply appreciate your time and willingness to share your experience.
